The Gators and the Rebels face off in Nashville in the SEC finals.
ReplyDeleteThe Gators were tested on Saturday by Alabama in their semifinal game. They battled back and got the win, but not the cover. UF trailed at the half by three but won by 10 points.
The Gators had there hands full for a while with a feisty and motivated Alabama team.
Gamblers are all rushing to lay the points here as Florida looks a lot more like the team that was dominating their opposition early in the season than the tired team who seemed to be dragging ass down the stretch. Because of the general public's over-reaction to how good the Gators look, I think Florida is just way overpriced here.
Remember, the question is never which team will win, but which team will cover the spread. This old Miss team is cagy, live, and they have serious heart!
In their opening game against Missouri and then again on Saturday Ole Miss trailed but battled back to get the win. In the second half on Saturday the Rebels pounded it inside against a tired Vandy squad who gave it a game effort but just had nothing left in the tank after having to play the extra game on Thursday.
Florida is:
2-6 against the spread against the SEC
1-4 against the spread following a win
1-6 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
Ole Miss is:
5-2 against the spread in their last seven games
14-4 following a game which they covered the spread
4-1 against the spread following a win.
FINALLY:
Ole Miss was swept by Florida during the regular season losing by 14 at Florida and four at home.
BOTTOM LINE:
At the end of the day, to me, all that matters is my line vs Vegas. I had Florida a -7 point favorite coming off the 4 point win on the road the last time these two met. When I saw the game open at Florida -11½, I immediately made Mississippi my 80 Dime Winner # 3 in a row!
