First things first, I do not like backxng a school that is playing so far away from their home campus, and San Diego State playing in Philadelphia is about as far away as you can get!
True, Oklahoma isn't exactly right up the road from Philly, but the Sooners trek is at least a tad closer, and I believe the Sooners are the more battle-tested team on the floor for this bout.
Both sides have dropped 3 of 5 straight up coming into this meething, but Oklahoma did prove they have bounce-back capability, sporting a 6-3 spread mark in games following straight up losses this season, and Boomer-Sooner is on a 7-3 against the spread run overall their last 10 games played.
The Aztecs enter on a 1-5 pointspread slide their last 6 games played, and while they have a NBA-caliber player in Jamaal Franklin, the Sooners can answer with Romero Osby in the paint pounding away.
In closing, over the years I have grown NOT to trust the coachung accumen of Steve Fisher, as I think the game tends to speed up on him in crunch-time. Conversely, Lon Kruger has now taken 5 different programs to the Big Dance, and I was really impressed with the Sooners this season despite their suspect end of the season finish.

ReplyDeleteI like the Cincy pick. Never been a big Creighton fan all year. But the Oklahoma game is intriguing. Each time I've recommended them, we've cashed. I agree with the writeup that Oklahoma is the more battle tested team (Kansas/Kstate/Iowa St), and even though Colorado St beat Mizz (not exactly a huge upset IMO), we saw the trouble the Mountain West ran into with UNLV and New Mexico being kicked to the curb. Plus, things I love about Oklahoma are at crunch time - they make their free throws - shooting 76% as a team. Outstanding. Personally, I think they win the game outright.

DeleteI agree. We get paid on Monday! I remember a Saturday not to long ago where the morning game was hyped big by one of these 'cappers and we lost that, but we did not overbet it! We came back and won four games later that day to close the day up 4-1.
For someone starting today with a 1,000 bankroll:
Delete100 dimes is = 11% of the bankroll using dime accounting
3% of the bankroll is just that = 30 dimes
2% of the bankroll is just that = 20 dimes
So while Lang lost 110 dimes today and Rosica lost 88 dimes today (using dime accounting which they do at their sites), even if we lose all three bets today we will only be down an equivalent of 70 dimes.
