UPDATE: Back on track, the Kansas Jayhawks -17 cover as they win by 22 points.

Sometimes you lose your confidence in handicapping. Today is one of those days. I am going to start following Indian Cowboy in college basketball for a few days. I have 3.3% of my bankroll at risk today. After last nights game, I have lost my fear on betting big favorites in college basketball. Good luck whatever you bet today!

I always thought flat betting was the way to go but

you seem to be doing great. I also have a 100k

Bankroll, but havent had the balls to follow your

money management yet. just been flat betting 1%

following stuckey and IC.

my lesson for tonight, and hopefully going forward. I didn't bet the Kansas because of the spread, as well as the portland game, which is looking good.

Foyboy: I started with $10,000 cash in hand and $90,000 in the bank back on November 21, 2011. Luckily I never had to go to the bank. I took the original bankroll off the table because I had a super run. Now I am playing on just the profits. I am off my all time high as I hit a losing streak not to long ago. My goal is to hit $100,000 profit after 3 months from the start. The day by day details are all here. I have learned a lot and refuse to make the same mistakes twice. I know you have been following for some time Foyboy and I appreciate your kind words. All I can tell you is scared money makes no money. (I also bought a car where I had a better line than what I graded some plays at. I always grade the plays with the worst possible line.) This is gambling! Good luck to you!

This is an informational blog for Nevada residents only. Please feel free to make comments. If you think I am full of it, tell me! I hope this blog is helpful and entertaining and even possibly profitable to you. I will never tell you to bet a hockey game! Can I tell you the secret to sports betting in two words? Money management. One thing I know for sure, you are here and you are reading this. You are a winner!

My rules for sports betting:

As you win, your bets per dime should go up. As you lose, your bets per dime will go down. This automatically adjusts for runs or streaks. You should bet more when you are winning and bet less when you are losing. This rule does not apply to Labby Lines.

ALWAYS get the best line. Shop Around. Get up early. Have multiple outs. This is critical to long-term success, you have to do the work. Never play at a sports book which is known for not paying winners, make sure your sports book is not on the Black List. For grading purposes, we will grade all plays as what is most available to players. So don't be surprised if I change the line during the day for grading purposes, IF the line goes against me.

Use 1,000 dimes. Have the biggest bankroll you can put together. Most of the money you can just keep in the bank. But it has to be there to withstand any severe downturn. This is money you can afford to lose.

Never pay for a pick or bet based on what a paid tout says. You know I am giving you my best opinion, because I am not selling you anything! Help your hungry neighbor if you want to give money to someone. You need to have a filtering process to beat the vig. You got to win more than you lose.

If you ever get the urge to bet on a hockey game, lay down till the urge passes.

If you hit a winning streak and get ahead a lot, consider taking your original bankroll off the table and playing with just the profits. As night follows day, a good winning streak can be followed by a bad one.

Watch for fishy lines in college basketball in small leagues, such as the Horizon League. If several casinos have this off the board and the line moves so that it crosses zero stay off the game or consider betting which way the money is flowing. It may turn into a very entertaining game to watch in the last two minutes.

Don't bet the board. Be very selective. Surround and pound! Scared money is no money. Less is more!

Don't do parlays. Bet one game at a time. Parlays are for losers. Never bet on a hockey game.

You can do teasers, but be very selective.

When you get burned out on gambling or don't feel you are up to your best game, take a few weeks or months off. Enjoy the profits. Travel the world or do something different. Life is short.

Football rule - Tattoo this rule on your arm: Buy the half point (the hook) either up or down depending whether you are on the favorite or the underdog when the line crosses 3, 4 or 7 and sometimes 10.

In the NFL, skip the game or play the other side when a home team opens up at -2 1/2.

Bet the favorites early and underdogs late, especially in a game that is getting a lot of action. Generally the public will be all over the favorite, driving up the price.
