I want to break the $100,000 profit level this week. But I won't bet stupid doing it. I am betting 4.4% of the bankroll today. I may have an additional bet later in the NBA.

Mr. Al "The Hook" DeMarco reports in on the Super Bowl. From listening to the video, its pretty obvious Al has the Portland Trailblazers +1 as his 15 dime selection. Al is no dummy. I wonder which handicapper he is talking about who buried more people than an undertaker (go to the 4:20 mark), lol:

Blogger, Sorry for the delayed response. But ya, I typically follow you, IC, and Rich Sports. And occasionally fade Brandon Lang. I will also make my own picks every so often. I am still relatively new(started on Christmas 2011). But i have been doing well. I have tripled my very very small starting bankroll only using an also very very small standard bet(that follow Bank Roll Management rules). Even with tiny bankrolls, do you recommend following your dime system or do you think a standard 2%-5% bet is okay?

GoFalcons: A standard 2 to 5 percent bet is great. I basically am doing the same thing. Betting like 4.4% or 5.5% of the bankroll on one game. That is pretty good tripling your bankroll by the way!

This is an informational blog for Nevada residents only. Please feel free to make comments. If you think I am full of it, tell me! I hope this blog is helpful and entertaining and even possibly profitable to you. I will never tell you to bet a hockey game! Can I tell you the secret to sports betting in two words? Money management. One thing I know for sure, you are here and you are reading this. You are a winner!

My rules for sports betting:

As you win, your bets per dime should go up. As you lose, your bets per dime will go down. This automatically adjusts for runs or streaks. You should bet more when you are winning and bet less when you are losing. This rule does not apply to Labby Lines.

ALWAYS get the best line. Shop Around. Get up early. Have multiple outs. This is critical to long-term success, you have to do the work. Never play at a sports book which is known for not paying winners, make sure your sports book is not on the Black List. For grading purposes, we will grade all plays as what is most available to players. So don't be surprised if I change the line during the day for grading purposes, IF the line goes against me.

Use 1,000 dimes. Have the biggest bankroll you can put together. Most of the money you can just keep in the bank. But it has to be there to withstand any severe downturn. This is money you can afford to lose.

Never pay for a pick or bet based on what a paid tout says. You know I am giving you my best opinion, because I am not selling you anything! Help your hungry neighbor if you want to give money to someone. You need to have a filtering process to beat the vig. You got to win more than you lose.

If you ever get the urge to bet on a hockey game, lay down till the urge passes.

If you hit a winning streak and get ahead a lot, consider taking your original bankroll off the table and playing with just the profits. As night follows day, a good winning streak can be followed by a bad one.

Watch for fishy lines in college basketball in small leagues, such as the Horizon League. If several casinos have this off the board and the line moves so that it crosses zero stay off the game or consider betting which way the money is flowing. It may turn into a very entertaining game to watch in the last two minutes.

Don't bet the board. Be very selective. Surround and pound! Scared money is no money. Less is more!

Don't do parlays. Bet one game at a time. Parlays are for losers. Never bet on a hockey game.

You can do teasers, but be very selective.

When you get burned out on gambling or don't feel you are up to your best game, take a few weeks or months off. Enjoy the profits. Travel the world or do something different. Life is short.

Football rule - Tattoo this rule on your arm: Buy the half point (the hook) either up or down depending whether you are on the favorite or the underdog when the line crosses 3, 4 or 7 and sometimes 10.

In the NFL, skip the game or play the other side when a home team opens up at -2 1/2.

Bet the favorites early and underdogs late, especially in a game that is getting a lot of action. Generally the public will be all over the favorite, driving up the price.
