TUESDAY: 20 DIMES WON ON THE HOUSTON ROCKETS - 7 1/2 AT HOME AGAINST THE DETROIT PISTONS, STOP LEGAL SPORTS BETTING IN NEW JERSEY!

You ever get the feeling no matter what you bet you will lose? Since Sunday I have been gambling shy. After collecting back all my temporary loans to the books with substantial interest, I guess its time to give them another very short term loan. You can't win every game!

Total profit since this blog started and today's beginning balance: $92,087

Bet per dime: ($92,087 divided by 1,000 units) times 1.1 = $101.30

UPDATE: Nate and I are going nuts here. We just learned a state back east, New Jersey I think is trying to legalize sports betting! Huh? WTF! Has anyone watched Jersey Shore? These folks in New Jersey should not be betting on sports! My goodness, what an outrageous concept. We are working with Nevada Senator Harry Reid's office to stop this on the federal level. We may need your support in contacting your senators and congressman. Just imagine it: Legal sports betting in New Jersey, its enough to turn your stomach!

Hey, don't point your finger at us Fat Man! You and Tony Soprano have to be stopped!

This is for the Governor of New Jersey from the Senate Majority Leader from Nevada - Mormons against gambling!, Garden State my ass!:

This man is a degenerate. Who is this clown, what is this "will of the people" crap? If you allow this in New Jersey, what is next? Ohio, Georgia, California, Illinois, Texas, Washington State, Pennsylvania, New York or even Utah? Listen to this guy talk about parlays, hey we don't do parlays here clown:

I have no videos today of Brandon Lang or our other guest handicappers, except for Al "The Hook" DeMarco. Seems they are all traveling or they are having "technical difficulties." If you see any of them at the airport, be sure to say hi and buy then a nice cup of coffee for me! UPDATE: Stu "The Source" Feiner finally got his website back up and has a interesting video blog post. The Source finally discovered The Texans + 7 1/2 were the bet for last Sunday, welcome aboard Stu! It seems Stu has been in the kitchen watching porn all this time. Stu Feiner is going with the Baltimore Ravens + 7 1/2 and the New York Giants + 2 1/2 for the next round.

The Hook likes the Michigan Wolverines tonight as his free pick.

  1. question: you were dividing your bankroll by 1000 dimes. but now i see your multiplying 1.1 times as well. whats that about? thanks! good luck to us today!

  2. Shaneel: I multiply the dimes by 1.1 to cover for the juice. Say my bankroll is $100,000. So if i want to win say $2,000 on the Rockets, I have to bet $2,200 at the book. If I win I get back the $2,200 plus $2,000 in winnings, so I am up 20 dimes. But if I lose, I am down 22 dimes or $2,200 because the loser pays the vig. Does that make sense? I am trying to make it as simple as possible. Thanks for the question, I hope I have answered it. Good luck whatever you bet on today!

  3. The trouble with the paid touts, they never seem to bet or have a real bankroll. They say bet 100 dimes here or 1,000,000 dimes there and they don't have a sports monitor or never track a real bankroll. So the customer follows them and loses and then they have to find new suckers. I find the best way to track your play is with what you have actually won or lost, not how many dimes you have won or lost. Its really meaningless for me to track dimes because when I win my bet per dime goes up and when I lose my bet per dime goes down. To win in gambling, you have to cover the vig or juice. I have certainly done that in the last two months. The real key is you have to rate your games and win the big ones. I am using dimes here as a money management tool to calculate the bet amount I want to make. But you always have to take into account the vig.

  4. Shaneel: I have always divided the bankroll by 1,000 dimes and multiplied it by 1.1, since day one, check the old posts.

  6. oh ok, you can do it either way, 1000 divided and times 1.1

    or

when you log in online sportsbook, they ask you risk amount or win amount. you can just put win amount 20 dimes w/e your amount it. and it will add up the juice. i guess its same.

    thanks

  7. Shaneel: Oh I see, I am totally ignorant when it comes to online sports books except I know some of them can rip you off. I physically make my bets in sports books here in Las Vegas, Nevada. Thanks for the info, I learned something knew.
