    2. I was debating going with the Umpire under streaker with UNDER in the Houston/Arizona game as home plate umpire Alan Porter was on a 9-0 streak on the under (now 10-0 streak) or the OVER in the Rangers game. Naturally I went with the Ranger OVER that lost. That's why money management is more important than the picks.

    3. Next time Porter is the home base umpire, going to sure as shit bet the UNDER!

    5. Yeah, its why I went with hockey. 1 puck hit the red line but didn't quite go over it by like one inch or two. I knew then I was sunk, lol. I should of layed down and hoped the urge to bet hockey would pass.

  2. Hello Rick,

It seems to be you have some issues regarding our services, please email us back so we can discuss your issues and clear up any doubts you might have about our service.

If it is regarding to your F rating in the directory, that is pretty simple, someone submitted a review and scam complaint for your service back in January. This is the ONLY reason your service has an F rating, because our system does all that automatically once reviews or complaints are submitted. If you contacted us and told us that was not an accurate representation of your service, we would have investigated and removed it. Instead you have chosen to post scam and fraud alerts about our company for no reason. Remember, we do not know who you are? Like 2,000+ other services out there. So if someone posts review or complaint, we just have to take their word for it until we hear from the service itself so we can analyze and investigate both sides of the story.

We are trying to clean up this DIRTY industry, not add to the problem. We noticed there was nothing like this out there and there was a need so we started the directory about 10 months ago. Also, we DO NOT sell client information, or else we would have no clients left! We sell OPT-IN leads that we get, these are guys who opt-in specifically to have handicappers call, email or text them.

Please contact us at 702-706-4007, and ask for me, Ruben, I am the managing director. If I am not available, please leave your name and # with whoever answers so I can get back to you asap.

    Thanks,

    Ruben

  3. I mean think about it, out of 2,000+ services, why would we randomly pick your blog to single out?

    ReplyDelete
  4. In fact, I spoke to one of my techs who claims he tried to contact your service back in January when the reviews posted for your service, however he was UNABLE to find any contact info, email address, phone number, or twitter.

    1. Anyone can reach this site through the comments section. As you can see the comments are unmoderated. The only time I have deleted comments is when they were abusive to other posters. You are always free to have your say here. I am actually proud to have an "F" rating at your site. This blog will wear that as a badge of honor. Please post anytime, your comments are always welcome at this site.

    3. This blog has been fighting scammers since its inception. We have never took a nickel from anybody and our record is totally documented. This site has never had a losing year. The fund we are using now is from previous profits, mainly from the famous Brandon Lang December to Remember 2011 Fade. This blog has been rated more than once by our independent sports handicapper as the number one handicapper on their home page, out of about 150 handicappers, most of them that charge for their services. Our picks are ALWAYS free. In fact, if you click on the banner to Cappers Monitor on the right you will see that even after yesterday's loss we are rated as the 6th hottest handicapper at their site over the last 10 days. For anyone to give this blog an :"F" rating is a travesty.

      Delete
    4. The ONLY handicappers we get a monthly fee from are 6 cappers in our Directory, other than that, we do not not charge for 90% of the services we provide...

      Delete
    5. And those 6 handicappers have been around for a long time, and we consider honest. Just do the research for yourself, see if you can find any legit complaints about any of those 6 services.

      Delete
  5. Right, but we get reviews everyday, we cannot go leave comments on peoples blogs to get them to contact us back. Here are the criteria for how we rate services:

"The ratings listed for each service are merely educated suggestions formulated by CapperTek based on many factors such as verification, history, owners, reputation, longevity, word of mouth, positive reviews, negative reviews, scam complaints, etc. Please note that the service ratings listed have not so much to do with a services picks record or ROI, rather if that service conducts business honestly and in a professional and transparent manner."

In fact, if you would have verified your website, we would have given you an A rating based on the fact that you do not charge for picks, which very few guys in this industry do. We can only go by what someone says, and we NEVER heard from you the last 5 months, so what other conclusion can we come up with?

    1. This blog has been around for a long time. I would never rate someone by what soneone says. The person that complained was from a newsletter that we had posted links too. We removed the links as he suggested and even asked at another forum that no one posts his newsletter. I did everything he asked. I will let the other readers of this blog vouch for these facts.

    1. I think the first two email addresses are no longer working, and I honestly do not recall seeing any email in rickb125125@yahoo.com. If I had I would of responded. Actually i was quite shocked to find we had an "F" rating at your site, and perhaps my reaction was too harsh. But perhaps your site was too quick to give this blog an "F" rating and should be more careful to check your facts. You only have 16 sites with "F" ratings, how hard is it to visit each site and interact with the people there before you arbitrarily give them an "F" rating?

      Delete
    2. I agree, back in January, the directory and software was still being developed and relatively new, so our ratings were a lot harsher than they are now that we have fine tuned our system.

  7. My tech scoured the web for 30 mins just to dig up those 3 email addresses for you, which in the end we still could not verify it was you because we got no response.

    2. Again, at this time I have no problem with the "F" rating at your site. Everything is fine with us here now.

Another FRAUD for the never ending list: PITCHPIX.CAPPERTEK.COM
    Report Post
Here is a new fraud for soccer service.

Tried a week of selections. Daily and timely delivered was promised. This commitment was not meant. They came up with several excuses for non-delivery of email.

On Tuesday, March 18, they emailed a few selections; At the end of the day they added six more winning selections to the website.

On Friday, March 21, they emailed several losing selections. The website does not record/list all the losers.

On Saturday, March 22, they past posted several selections. They posted Chelsea win for two units. After the game started, with Chelsea leading 3-0, they changed it to a 5 unit pick. After I caught them, they changed it back to a two unit selection.

On Saturday, March 22, they posted Lok Moscow for 5 units, 20 minutes after the game started with a 2-0 lead.

I wrote a complaint to the website host. They defended the vendor and did absolutely nothing. Their website allows the scamdicapper to at any time post a pick, alter the units, delete a pick, or add one after the game starts.

PITCHPIX is the scam idea of twitter scammers @gr123163 @mcduffyspicks @country__crock

    1. Exactly, that was another handicapper who registered a free account at CapperTek, he was making sales, then all the sudden he was doing shady things so we shut him down and gave him an F rating. I mean, we are an open service, anyone can join for free and post and sell picks. But you cannot get away with doing shady things.

  10. The guy who you re-tweeted recently, who tweeted a link to your SBR Forum post, was a handicapper MonsterBenPlays, who registered a free site with us and was making sales, then his picks went bad, then he started making bogus picks, fudging the lines, and just doing things outside our guidelines so we gave him an F rating and shut him down, so now he has sour grapes. I mean, just look at his twitter history, he did nothing but praise CapperTek for 5 months until we shut him down. Then all the sudden he is crying SCAM!

  11. Just a clip from this great read...From http://www.football-data.co.uk/blog/suckers_sharks.php

Some of you will now rightly say that if Professorspicks.com is not independently verified - and it doesn't appear to be - then you would be mad to buy their betting advice. That's certainly true, but it doesn't stop suckers buying it. Furthermore, if we dig a little deeper into the service we find that it is reviewed by a website called Cappertek, giving it a B+ rating, with no reviews reporting any scamming. Perhaps that is unsurprising when we learn that the both Professorspicks and Cappertek share the same web hosting ASN nummber (AS26496). Furthermore, there are additional reviewed tipster services who even share the same IP address, for example EverybodyLovesWinners.com (don't we just), which gets a B rating, and AllStarSportsPicks.com which gets an A rating.
Digging even further we find an independent monitoring service called WagerPolice.com, which has exactly the same IP address as Cappertek, EverybodyLovesWinners and AllStarSportsPicks. WagerPolice claims the following on its homepage:

    7. Also, one thing I have a REAL problem with, is that you are saying we sell our client info. That is 100% false and clearly a lie. If we did that, we would have no clients left and a mutiny on our hands. We ONLY sell opt-in info from guys we get who opt-in their email address or phone number willingly to be contact by handicappers.

    12. I do not think you are getting my point. We are a business, we cannot conduct business on a open blog, that is NOT usually how people conduct business. Maybe you do it that way, but we did not know that. 95% of handicapping services out there have at least a email or some sort of contact form. How are we supposed to assume you want your business aired our on a open blog for everyone to see. If that is how you run your business, I salute you, but we cannot assume that.

  14. We removed the reviews, which makes your rating go back to a C+. Every service in the directory starts with a C+ (average rating). We also verified your website, thus bringing your rating to a B by default.

You are asking what verified means?

CapperTek Verified Sports Handicapping Services are services that have been verified by us by placing a verification banner on their website. Basically, this means that we have established an open line of communication directly with the owner of the specific service so we can resolve any negative reviews or scam complaints.

All this can be found on our FAQ page: www.cappertek.com/faq.asp

    Thanks,

    1. I have deleted any negative postings at SBR where I can and have posted your comments. I am used to posting at blogs and making comments at blogs. I realize not everyone is as comfortable with blogs as I am. I seem to get a lot of email from various sports services and they all go to my spam folder and are deleted. Frankly, I was never even aware of your website until I saw that Steve Stevens' video at SBR.

This blog tries to be fair to everyone and as far as I am concerned there is no hard feelings. I am a little disappointed that I am losing my "F" rating at your site Ruben, but its something I will have to live with. :-)

    2. lol Listen, if you want your F rating back, just scam someone, we will give it to you!

  15. Wow - got here late. Here's a thought - CAPPERTEK seems to have plenty of time NOW to spend here on this blog. And apparently the contact is working - as there is an in-depth back and forth going on here. So the claim of "We couldn't contact you" seems pretty dis-ingenious. Given that instead of searching the blog for emails/phone numbers/contact info - it's pretty clear all you had to do was leave a post - which today you seemed to have figured out.

I also find it interesting that you start a service ostensibly to rate handicapping sites, then do absolutely no follow up and merely trust the ratings that people give. What's to stop any competitor from posting bogus reviews? You seem to think the solution is that services should contact you? "If you contacted us and told us that was not an accurate representation of your service, we would have investigated and removed it." So let's see... You start a service to rate handicappers - then you do no work to verify unless bogus reports about the ratings are brought to your attention? That seems backwards. If ACCURACY is your goal, YOU should investigate the services. The way you have it set up - anyone can say anything - and you put the burden on the people they may or may not be slandering to defend themselves. When, if you hadn't provided a rating forum, it wouldn't be taking place.
Honestly - it seems a bit lazy to start a ratings site, then only investigate or substantiate anything based on complaints from the people who are being rated. Perhaps you should have come up with a better business model. Or to keep things honest - have a minimum number of ratings before something such as an "F" rating could be published. Then, when you see it coming down the pipeline - you could do your due diligence. Otherwise the value of the site is greatly diminished, and it just becomes a bunch of people popping off at the mouth. Wow - that's unique.
That's my 2 cents. For the record - I'm just a poster here. I have nothing to do with running or owning this blog.

    2. I hear what you are saying. But these reviews were posted back in January. We tried to get the contact info for this service with no luck. 3. I have advised anyone over at SBR, if they have any questions to call you directly Ruben. I hope that is OK.

    4. No problem. And as far as BettingJesus goes, we can only go by what he does in our Directory as he pays to be a featured handicapper, and he cannot get away with scamming anyone in our directory without being exposed.

      Delete
    5. As an aside, if this is the same BettingJesus that is a graduate of the University of Washington then I can say nothing negative about him. When I had an earlier blog, he linked to my blog and I linked back to his. Although I have not been in contact with him for some time, I still consider him a friend.

      Delete
    6. And as far as him posting in the directory, we have had no issues, or clearly they would have been made public, nothing can be hidden in the directory.

      Delete
  16. Again - not to belabor it - but you didn't seem to have any issues contacting anyone today. Not quite sure why it took half a year to figure that out. Seems like it would have taken 20 seconds to post a message. I'm betting you spent longer than that searching for contact info. Personally, if you had left a post - it would be there for everyone to see, and if it had been deleted, at least you'd know SOMEONE saw it. I mean, what takes longer? Searching for contact info you can't find, or leaving a quick post? Sounds like you were walking around the block to go next door. But, here you are, and things seem to be moving forward.

Like a good businessman, you did damage control and did it in a very effective way by reaching out directly to the blog. I think in the long run, this whole incident probably helped Cappertek more than it hurt. 3. I see Lang has a 50 dime total play on the Heat/Spurs. If I can find the play and if Lang has the OVER I am going to fade him. If he has the UNDER, I am going to leave it alone.
