UPDATE: Marquette had an off night tonight, they just couldn't hit their shots. I was very frustrated watching this game. I liked the Golden Eagles a lot here. But yesterday I liked the Nevada Wolf Pack big as well. This is my last post for this blog. I am not going to let my profits slip under the $100,000 mark. I am done gambling for now. Thanks for reading this blog and thanks for your comments. I will leave this blog up here if you are interested in the links. It was a good run while it lasted. Good luck!

Today Brandon Lang has a 100 dime play on Florida +2 over Marquette. Naturally I am betting the other side or Marquette for 100 dimes or 11% of the accumulated profits.

The Lang Analysis of the game:
Best game of the four tonight.
In a nutshell, this Gator bunch may have found something here late in the year and are flat out riding this wave into the sweet sixteen.
It started with their semi-final game in the SEC tourney against Kentucky when they had the soon to be #1 team in the tourney on the ropes before losing 74-71.
They took that momentum and flat out rode it to a pair of absolute blowout wins over Virginia by 26 and Norfolk State by 34.
Now I completely understand those two teams are not in the same class as Marquette but rest assured, there is magic for Billy Donovan in the sweet sixteen.
He has been here. He has more experience than most other coaches and it will be because of that experience alone his team wins this game tonight.
Both teams are small and quick and it will come down to who hits the big shots from behind the arc which we have seen is one of the Gators big strengths.
In fact, with exception of a rough 3-game stretch at the end of February to close out the year, this team has been really hot.
Starting with a win over Georgia at home 70-48 as a 16 point home favorite, they rolled on to win 6 more in a row SU before back to back losses at Kentucky and at home to Tennessee.
They ran off 3 more in a row over Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn before losing 3 in a row to close the year at Georgia, Vandy and Kentucky at home.
They beat Bama in their SEC tourney opener, took Kentucky to the wire and hammered their first two opponents in the big dance.
I love the way Billy has them playing right now.
As for Marquette, we know all about them and the great year they have had but their are some chinks in their armor as shown by Louisville in the Big East tourney.
The Cardinals took apart the Golden Eagles to the tune of an 84-71 win and trust me, some of the same offensive and defensive principles Dononvan runs are Pitino's.
This is a very favorable match up for the Gators from not only the interior but the perimeter as well.
The numbers will show the Gators are 5-1 ATS last 6 NCAA tourney games and 9-3-1 ATS last 13 games as an underdog.
I will go down swinging with a coach and a team that has made me more money in this tourney the last 5 years than any other and I am confident they will make me some more money tonight.
This small dog packs a big bite and moves to the Elite 8.

The Golden Eagles are loose and ready for the Gators for tonights game in Phoenix. Marquette coach Buzz Williams drains a half-court shot during the Golden Eagles open practice at the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Reginal Semifinal at US Airways Center in Phoenix, Ariz., then celebrates with the "Olympic swimmer" dance:

Blogger,
ReplyDeleteLooks like Indian Cowboy is on the other side of this one. I hate when the 2 people I follow are on the opposite side... Decisions Decisions Decisions
MattyMeach: Ouch! Now you tell me, lol.
ReplyDeleteAre you picking marquette because you like the pick or just because it's the Lang Fade?
ReplyDeleteMattyMeach: I like the play.
ReplyDeleteGoing to miss this blog! Please don't stop gambling!
ReplyDeleteSay it isn't so Blogger
ReplyDeleteNooooooooooo. Don't go!!!!!
ReplyDeleteahhhhh, nooooo!!!! say it isn't so!!!! but after a great run, understandable. But just in case you get an itch, how about this challenge. Instead of starting with a large bankroll, how about starting with a small bankroll, say $2500, and see how large your can grow it? Might be difficult after betting the amounts you have become accustomed to, but one way to keep the blog going, without messing with your profit.
ReplyDeleteEither way, thanks for the great blog and best of luck to you.
Thanks for the kind comments. I am burned out on gambling. It can be emotionally draining and am planning on going to Europe for a couple of months. I think money management is more important than your handicapping. Good luck to you in the future and God Bless.
